**Job Purpose:** The Local Accounting Lead is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate monthly closings, and maintaining compliance with local tax regulations and group financial policies. This role also oversees audits, supports banking operations, and acts as a key liaison with local and group stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities:** + Manage the full accounting cycle including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank, fixed assets… + Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. + Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. + Ensure local books are aligned with group reporting standards (IFRS or other as applicable). + Coordinate and ensure timely submission of all tax filings (VAT, CIT, WHT, GMT etc.) in compliance with local regulations. + Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings. + Liaise with external tax consultants and local tax authorities as needed. + Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the business. + Ensure compliance with internal controls and group finance policies. + Main point of contact for local banking partners. + Prepare regular financial reports for local and group management. **Qualifications & Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus). + Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including experience in a lead or supervisory role. + Solid understanding of local GAAP and IFRS. + Experience with tax compliance and dealing with audits. + Strong analytical and organizational skills. + Fluent in Arabic and English. + Proficient in accounting software SAP **Key Competencies:** + Attention to detail and high level of accuracy + Strong communication and interpersonal skills + Knowledge of local tax laws and IFRS. + Proactive and solution-oriented mindset + Integrity and professional ethics + Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
