Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in supporting various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in check processing, chargebacks, and settlements. Responsibilities: • Process files and handle all chargeback items with precision. • Manage settlements to ensure seamless financial operations. • Conduct research and perform adjustments related to check processing activities. • Participate in testing new products or upgrades to departmental systems to ensure smooth implementation. • Review, approve, and process exceptions, making corrections as needed. • Provide backup support across departmental functions during high-volume periods or staffing shortages. • Contribute to additional projects and duties assigned by management to support organizational goals. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in check processing. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in high-pressure situations. • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making. • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and effectively manage workload. • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
