Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves supporting the financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payment processing and reconciliations. The position is based in Richmond, Virginia, within a higher education setting. Responsibilities: • Process check and credit card payments accurately, ensuring timely recording. • Match financial transactions to corresponding deposits to maintain accurate records. • Prepare and complete bank deposits while adhering to established procedures. • Handle the processing of cash sales with precision and attention to detail. • Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks to support financial operations. • Utilize QuickBooks for efficient data entry and invoice processing. • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures in all tasks. • Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Proficiency in QuickBooks for financial management and data entry. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions. • Ability to process invoices and maintain organized records. • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members. • Familiarity with banking procedures, including deposits and reconciliations. • Previous experience in higher education or similar environments is a plus.
