Accounting Clerk
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Kailua, Hawaii. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting and administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. This role is on-site working full-time, Monday - Friday, so preference will be given to talent residing on Oahu, as the hiring process will move swiftly. Accounting Clerk Responsibilities: • Record and maintain accurate accounting entries, including journal entries and general ledger updates. • Process accounts payable invoices on a weekly basis, ensuring timely payments. • Assist with bank reconciliation tasks, verifying transactions and resolving discrepancies. • Audit member forms to ensure information is updated correctly and scanned properly into the system. • Handle wire transfer processing and ensure compliance with relevant policies. • Provide support to front-line tellers by entering member account details, ordering debit cards, and setting up online banking. • Assist in year-end financial processes and annual audits, adhering to regulatory requirements. • Conduct onboarding training for staff, focusing on policies, procedures, and compliance regulations. • Utilize software tools such as Office, Excel, and specialized accounting systems to perform daily tasks effectively. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting clerk position. • Proficiency in journal entries, accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliation. • Strong customer service skills and ability to assist team members effectively. • Familiarity with auditing processes, including operational audits and data verification. • Competence in data entry and document scanning with attention to detail. • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. • Knowledge of accounting software systems. • Ability to work independently while adhering to regulatory requirements and policies.
