Description
Our client, a growing and dynamic company located in New London, CT, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to work in a fast-paced environment and play a key role in supporting accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable/receivable data.
+ Reconcile bank statements by comparing them with ledger entries to ensure accuracy.
+ Process invoices and ensure proper approval and documentation for payment.
+ Assist in preparing financial reports and summaries as needed by management.
+ Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and assist with data entry tasks.
+ Provide support for internal and external audits by gathering and preparing documentation.
+ Handle administrative duties related to accounting, such as filing, answering queries, and maintaining spreadsheets.
+ Collaborate with the accounting team on month-end and year-end closing processes.
Requirements:
+ Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting or a related field is a plus.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
+ Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.
+ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Requirements • Previous experience in accounting or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in accounting tools such as Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP.
• Strong data entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy.
• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and billing processes.
• Ability to perform account reconciliations and manage financial transactions.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
