Accounting Clerk
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team in Greer, South Carolina on a contract basis. This position requires a detail-oriented individual to handle a variety of financial tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Process and reconcile financial batches, ensuring accuracy in accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions. • Investigate and resolve customer account issues and prepare detailed aging reports. • Manage billing and collection activities, including placing calls and maintaining the cash receipts journal. • Update and balance sub-ledgers, ensuring all data aligns with the general ledger. • Provide financial information and documentation to internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders as needed. • Reconcile bank accounts and post financial data to multiple ledgers. • Verify and code accounting documents to maintain compliance and accuracy. • Perform routine accounting tasks, adhering to established procedures and guidelines. • Compile financial segments for monthly closings and annual reports. • Uphold the organization's values and culture in all communications and activities. Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial data management. • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Strong skills in billing, invoice processing, and data entry. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent problem-solving skills to resolve financial discrepancies and customer issues. • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract-based role.
