THE ROLE
The Accounting Associate will assist the Accounting and Finance Managers with all accounting functions including, but are not limited to, (1) establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures, and (2) overseeing the preparation and evaluation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial operating reports and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Management. Additionally, they will be tasked with the accounts payable function.
ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the Accounts Payable function for the Attractions division, ensuring timely and accurate processingPost and reconcile bank activity related to the Attractions divisionAssist the Director of Finance with month-end close procedures and reportingProvide support during internal and external audits, including gathering and organizing documentationReconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepanciesContribute to processes that ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.Provide audit support across all financial activitiesDeliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed by leadership or operationsEnsure compliance with applicable Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards and internal control proceduresCollaborate with the Finance team and cross-functional department heads to meet reporting and operational needsPerform and review debit and credit reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances proactivelyAssist with the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and development of action plans to mitigate financial risks – as neededParticipate in special projects and other duties as assigned to support financial operationsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Finance, Economics and/or Business Administration advanced degree1-3 years of experience, preferably in the Hospitality IndustryAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite of software requiredSKILLS AND ABILITIES
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentHighly analytical with the ability to think creatively and understand complex business dynamicsFlexibility to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidaysCOMPENSATION
Competitive salary range of $65,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.

Location: On-Site (One World Observatory, New York City)
