Accounting Associate | Hybrid in Gainesville, VA | $18 - $19.50/hr | 6-month contract-to-hire

Job Description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for administrative responsibilities as well as execution of recurring department tasks. Key activities include accurate execution of accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, banking, communication with clients, vendors, and personnel. This position must function during core business hours and allows for telecommuting in accordance with the Telecommuting Agreement.

ResponsibilitiesManage execution of accounts payable.Support vendors.Process independent contractor invoices and payments.Record, code, and process invoices for payments.Process vendor payments and credits.Print checks for vendor payments upon approval.Add and update the vendor files.Manage execution of accounts receivable.Update the customer file and invoicing criteria.Enter invoices into customer invoicing websites.Process credit memos.Issue invoices to customers.Ensure execution and accuracy of weekly and monthly statement invoicing.Provide second level Customer Portal support to external customers.Perform banking responsibilities.Essential SkillsProficiency in accounting, data entry, purchase order, and invoice processing.Minimum 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and/or administrative data entry with some accounting.Ability to understand purchase orders and related processes.Detail-oriented data entry skills with high volume.Strong skills in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfortable working in a fast-paced office environment or remotely while multi-tasking.Detail-oriented and sensitive to communicating accurate status or issues, both verbally and in writing.Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.Initiative-taking and solution-oriented.Possess and demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness, respect, patience, flexibility, cultural awareness, a sense of urgency, and a sound work ethic.Ability to communicate by telephone, email, and website with organization, clients, and vendors.Willingness to assist others and perform any other related responsibilities as assigned.Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid schedule with 2 days in-office and 3 days remote, allowing flexibility in choosing which days to work in the office. The environment is family-oriented, providing an opportunity to work for one of the fastest-growing fleet transport companies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
