Accounting Associate
Description We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join our team in Torrance, California. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and culturally diverse environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting practices and a strong appreciation for Japanese culture, fostering a collaborative and respectful workplace. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations. • Conduct audits and balance sheet account reviews to maintain financial compliance. • Utilize accounting software systems and ERP tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. • Assist with collections and maintain clear communication with clients to resolve outstanding invoices. • Scan, file, and organize financial documents to ensure proper record-keeping. • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and team members to support departmental goals. • Provide insights into Japanese cultural practices to enhance workplace understanding and teamwork. • Support the implementation and use of financial tools, such as Concur and ADP. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including AP, AR, and general ledger functions. • Proficiency with accounting software systems, ERP tools, and platforms such as Concur and ADP. • Strong knowledge of auditing practices and financial compliance standards. • Ability to perform month-end close processes and prepare accurate journal entries. • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail in scanning, filing, and document management. • Effective communication skills, particularly in handling collections and client interactions. • Appreciation and understanding of Japanese culture to foster a diverse and inclusive environment. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
