Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team in Rochester, New York. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations by supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation tasks. Ideal candidates will have strong organizational skills and experience working with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy. • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with account balances. • Code and input invoices into the accounting system, maintaining attention to detail. • Utilize QuickBooks for daily accounting tasks and reporting. • Generate financial reports and maintain organized documentation. • Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow. • Apply Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial tracking. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. • Provide administrative support for various accounting functions. • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Familiarity with bank reconciliations and invoice coding. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members. • Prior experience in a similar accounting role is preferred.
