Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Lake Zurich, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining organized records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic accounting team. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable transactions with accuracy and efficiency. • Perform three-way matching to verify purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. • Reconcile bank statements to ensure proper financial alignment. • Code invoices correctly and ensure timely entry into the system. • Maintain and organize financial paperwork and records. • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve discrepancies in invoices or payments. • Assist with general accounting tasks as needed to support the department. • Utilize Syspro software when applicable for accounting processes. Requirements • Previous experience in accounts payable or similar accounting roles. • Proficiency in three-way matching and invoice coding. • Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Experience with Syspro software is a plus but not required. • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members. • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
