Accounting Assistant
Description We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Joppa, Maryland. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to support essential financial and administrative functions across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounts, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate records while contributing to overall office operations. Responsibilities: • Process and track accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and customers to resolve billing issues and documentation inquiries. • Prepare and maintain financial records, spreadsheets, and summaries for reporting purposes. • Support internal teams with administrative tasks related to financial operations. • Organize and maintain filing systems for invoices, contracts, and other supporting documentation. • Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on pending payments or documentation. • Assist in expense reporting and reconcile credit card statements. • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure timely submission of financial reports. • Provide general office support, including scheduling, document preparation, and file organization. • Work alongside project management teams to update schedules and track project-related financial and insurance requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative, accounting, or office support roles. • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar is preferred. • Knowledge of tools like Concur for expense management and database systems is advantageous.
