Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Westford, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, who thrives in an accounting environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential financial processes and operations. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently. • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with bank statements. • Utilize QuickBooks to manage and maintain accounting records and generate reports. • Code invoices correctly and ensure timely approval and payment. • Assist in preparing financial documentation and maintaining organized records. • Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and resolve accounting issues. • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities. • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. • Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in handling accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with other accounting tools. • Strong understanding of bank reconciliation processes. • Ability to accurately code invoices and maintain detailed financial records. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies. • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration. • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
