Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This part-time role requires 20–25 hours per week and will play a pivotal role in supporting our finance department during a transitional period. The position is primarily onsite, with remote work available on Fridays except during payroll weeks. Responsibilities: • Perform credit card reconciliations for multiple users across various campuses. • Track and reconcile outstanding receivables from parents and families. • Process and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) data efficiently. • Organize and maintain financial records by scanning, archiving, and filing invoices and bills. • Assist in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger. • Generate financial reports using Sage Intacct to support decision-making processes. • Contribute to segregating duties and enhancing backend finance operations. • Provide support for streamlining workflows within the finance department. Requirements • Proficiency in Sage Intacct with daily use experience. • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, particularly for accounts receivable. • Prior experience in the education or nonprofit sectors is preferred. • Ability to adapt quickly to limited onboarding and fast-paced transitions. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • At least 2 years of experience in accounting functions, including AP and AR. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Availability to start immediately or within one week.
