Description We are looking for a detail-oriented PART TIME Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and providing essential support to the accounting department. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately. • Reconcile bank statements to ensure alignment with financial records and address any discrepancies. • Prepare and generate financial reports, offering valuable insights into organizational finances. • Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks and other accounting software. • Assist with cost accounting tasks, contributing to budgeting and financial analysis. • Support general accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations. • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures. • Provide back-office support for finance-related operations as needed. Requirements • At least two years of post-secondary coursework in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field. • A minimum of three years of experience handling accounts payable and receivable functions. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other commonly used accounting software. • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices. • Experience in bank reconciliations and financial reporting. • Knowledge of cost accounting principles is preferred. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is desirable. • Familiarity with the healthcare or social assistance industry is an asset.
