Accounting and Reporting Specialist (Temporary)
The Accounting & Reporting team support a cluster of JTI entities on various IFRS and local statutory accounting activities. These include but are not limited to preparation and submission of accruals, preparation and submission of requests for fixed asset master data maintenance, submission of requests for GL account master data maintenance, preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, monthly review of entity trial balance, preparation of quarterly IFRS reporting pages for submission to corporate accounting, preparation of tax package for submission to corporate tax accounting, preparation of statutory reporting for entities in the cluster, validation of invoices for VAT return submission and preparation of annual reporting such as CBCR and JCFC.
As the Accounting and Reporting Specialist in the area of Accounting and Finace, you will do the following:
1.) IFRS and Statutory Reporting: Analyze and prepare monthly accounting entries, including accruals, reclassifications, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets, in accordance with principles agreed with the market and outlined in SLAs. This includes preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, as well as quarterly and annual group reports, in compliance with JTI IFRS accounting standards and agreed SLAs. The position will also work closely with market teams to support statutory audits and the preparation of financial documents and disclosures.
2.) Process Documentation: Support the team manager and expert on regular review and update of process documentation (user manuals and process flow).
3.) Continuous Improvement: Achieve targets on operational metrics and KPIs, applies knowledge of SAP, accounting, tax, and business processes to maintain a high level of integrity, and supports operational improvements by analyzing their impact on group activities in close collaboration with colleagues. Support the team manager and subject matter experts in conducting user acceptance testing, as applicable.
4.) Control and Compliance: Perform assigned JSOX and operational controls in accordance with internal documentation, raises all control failures, and ensures that mitigation actions are implemented for each identified failure
5.) Business Partnering and Collaboration: Liaise with market and factory accountants, controllers, and other relevant departments to ensure the delivery of reliable and relevant accounting information. Handle ad hoc tasks delegated by the team manager and subject matter experts, assists and provides support to other GBS groups within the area of responsibility, and participates in local and global projects as assigned by the team manager and experts. Support activities and provides training to other Accounting and Reporting team members
Who are we looking for?
University degree or equivalent experience in (Accounting or Finance) A professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA is desired At least 2 years experience in finance/accounting department or external auditing firms Financial reporting background with IFRS is a plus Strong command of English Language (oral and written) Knowledge of languages of the markets within the cluster desired Strong and solid background on general accounting principles including but not limited to intercompany, fixed assets, inventories, leases, receivables/payables and accruals. Strong background on financial reporting activities particularly on financial statement preparation, accounts reconciliation and managerment reporting packages. Experience in supporting internal and external audits including tax and statutory audits Solid understanding on IFRS, Tax and SOX compliance Solid understanding of SAP is a plus Solid understanding on Microsoft Applications. Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience in systems and shared service migration activities is a plus Strive for professional development and be results oriented Can work with minimum supervision but still adhering to the set deadlines and timelines Solid analytical and problem solving skills Be open minded, proactive, positive attitude and see the opportunities for changes Ability to work independently and as part of team and take on new tasks with medium to high level of difficulty Accuracy and attention to details Excellent working demeanor and social skill
