This is an exciting opportunity to join a Finance team supporting reinsurance operations with a global reach. As an Accounting Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient expense management, directly contributing to the integrity and performance of our Barbados-based entities. This role supports our mission by enabling timely, reliable financial insights that drive informed decision-making across the organization. You’ll gain valuable experience working in a collaborative, cross-time-zone environment, while developing your technical and analytical skills in a fast-paced, supportive setting.
Position Responsibilities:
Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts including Intercompany Accounts, Prepaid Expenses, VAT, Accounts Payable
Preparation of monthly journal entries
Movement of Investments, tracking purchases, sales, gains and losses, accretion and amortization of discount
Preparation of wire transfer requests for settlement of amounts payable under the various reinsurance and investment agreements.
Maintain and reconcile petty cash
Preparation of intercompany invoices
Liaising with external auditors
Assist with responding to queries from other divisions
Provide support on various projects as required to improve workflow, enhance efficiencies and create a better working environment for the Barbados Operations
Required Qualifications:
University Degree in Finance or Accounting and working towards a recognized international accounting qualification
Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in the financial industry
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices
Proficient in financial reporting and data analysis
Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
