Minnesota Housing is hiring! We’re a mission-focused financial institution looking for an Accountant to support our rental housing development funding activities, including handling loan repayment checks and processing deposits for numerous first mortgage fees. The cash associated with these responsibilities’ funds ongoing Agency programs and this position ensures that our cash receipts are received, entered, and deposited accurately to each funding source. Additionally, this role ensures all checks are processed in a timely manner and manages and coordinates all ACH transactions at the state and trustee levels.
**Essential Job Duties**
+ Run daily SinglePoint report from the US Bank Website and notify accounting staff when Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs) are received.
+ Process daily EFTs and check deposits.
+ Process other receivables task including deposits of fees received (i.e., Multifamily first mortgage construction loan fees such as origination fees, application fees, construction oversight fees, etc., LIRC checks, and Mortgage Tax Credit fees).
+ Enter mortgage payments for checks and EFTs into the Benedict Group, Inc (BGI) loan database system
+ Process the following on a monthly, quarterly, or an annual basis:
+ Invested Treasurer’s cash (ITC) entries in the Investment (IV) system in the Application Oriented Designs (AOD) Emphasys accounting software.
+ Multifamily delinquency reports; research and document why the loans are delinquent and follow-up with Multifamily staff and management as needed.
+ Letters of credit report (when required); track when they will expire and work with the Housing Management Officer (HMO) to renew the letters of credit.
+ Miscellaneous duties and accounting reporting including:
+ Prepare semi-annual Rental Housing financial disclosure schedules
+ Complete annual/semi annual Moody's and Standard and Poor's rating agency reporting
+ Prepare Statement of Cash Flows backup support spreadsheets for all bond funds and State and Federal Appropriated funds.
+ Review new loans when they are entered into BGI
+ Provide backup support for accounts payables as needed
+ Provide backup support and work with the Financial Analyst Lead on various projects that arises or as needed
+ Other duties as assigned.

+ **Two (2)** **years of professional experience in** **Accounting** working with account reconciliations or accounts receivable.
+ **Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel including** using vLookup and pivot tables.
+ **Demonstrated ability to use analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making to identify issues and problems, using the same skills to resolve the issues quickly and effectively.**
+ **Demonstrated communication skills, including ability to comprehend and communicate complex information in plain language.**
+ Experience adhering to generally accepted accounting principles, procedures and practices.
+ **Strong organizational and planning skills in order to identify priorities and meet deadlines.**
+ **Cultural competency as demonstrated by skills for communication and interaction across cultures and awareness of one’s own world view and that different world views exist.**
