This is a dynamic and high-profile business partnering role, where you will be a key financial expert for the Motor Fuel Group (MFG) partnership. The purpose of this position is to provide significant and useful insights to drive profitability, support strategic budgeting, and influence key commercial decisions that directly impact the bottom line.
What You’ll Be Doing
Business Partnering & Influence: Work closely with the Senior Manager for MFG, the Head of National Accounts, and other key stakeholders, translating financial data into actionable insights to drive commercial outcomes.
Driving Profitability: Provide in-week analysis and challenge on commercial performance, ensuring every pound spent is adding value and identifying opportunities to maximise the bottom line.
Commercial Insight: Use data-driven analysis to inform and challenge promotional performance, pricing strategies, and new range introductions within the MFG partnership.
Strategic Financial Planning: Supporting on the budgeting and forecasting work for the MFG partnership, ensuring financial plans are robust, accurate, and aligned with wider business strategy.
Presenting to Senior Leadership: Have significant opportunities to present key financial insights and recommendations to the Wholesale Director, building your profile and influencing decision-making at a senior level.
Delivering Accurate Reporting: Produce comprehensive P&L, sales, and margin reports for the MFG channel, ensuring accuracy and providing clear, concise commentary on performance.
Process Improvement: Actively support the centralisation of reporting and controls by collaborating with the core controls team to refine processes, reduce manual effort, and free up time for higher-value business partnering activities.
About you
We need a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for business partnering. More importantly, we want someone who is a proactive problem-solver, ready to challenge the status quo and with the confidence to influence at all levels.
