Job Description
Position Summary
The Accountant on the Financial Reporting team is responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly GAAP and IFRS financial statements for consolidated and joint venture properties. This role supports the analysis and reporting of financial information, prepares affiliate transaction reporting, and compile the financial disclosures for a group of consolidated and unconsolidated shopping malls within the company’s portfolio.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, footnote disclosures, and quarterly GAAP/IFRS transaction logs.
Prepare financial reporting packages for joint venture partners and address inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Support quarterly and year-end audit procedures by responding to auditor requests and ensuring timely delivery of required documentation.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis on financial statements.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and timeliness of key deliverables.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and maintain documentation for SOX requirements.
Communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely exchange of financial information.
Stay informed on developments in IFRS and GAAP through ongoing training and research.
Assist with special accounting and financial reporting projects, as needed.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
CPA certification preferred.
1-2 years of experience in SEC or other public financial reporting preferred.
Experience with Big Four public accounting firms or in the real estate industry is a plus.
Solid knowledge of US GAAP; exposure to IFRS or other authoritative accounting guidance preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Highly organized, proactive, and capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong emphasis on Excel.
Experience with financial systems and reporting tools such as Yardi, Workiva, OneStream, or JD Edwards preferred.
Compensation
Salary type: Exempt
Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
Annual Base Salary Range: $58,000 - $80,000
Annual Bonus: 10%
