Accountant - Entry Level
Description We are looking for an Entry Level Accountant to join a dynamic non-profit organization in New York, New York. This Contract-to-permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in financial operations while contributing to meaningful work. The position involves handling billing, payments, and financial records while providing exceptional service to members and ensuring accuracy in all transactions. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness. • Reconcile bank and account statements to ensure all financial records are aligned. • Generate and review invoices, ensuring proper documentation and compliance. • Manage payroll processing and payment distribution in accordance with organizational policies. • Address and resolve billing discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. • Provide financial support to members by answering inquiries and ensuring their needs are met. • Maintain detailed and organized financial records for reporting and audit purposes. • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics and Solomon software for financial data entry and analysis. • Collaborate with team members to improve financial workflows and processes. • Uphold the organization’s standards of service and integrity in all interactions. Requirements • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis tools. • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics software, such as Dynamics GP or CRM. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with members and team members. • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial transactions. • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes quickly. • Previous experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, or reconciliations is preferred.
