Accountant - Entry Level
Description We are looking for an Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This Contract-to-Permanent position is ideal for someone eager to build their accounting career while contributing to procurement, financial management, and organizational operations. The role involves handling purchasing activities, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: • Oversee purchasing activities, including reviewing orders, confirming delivery dates, and inspecting merchandise for quality and value. • Process and document procurement transactions while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and legal requirements. • Manage inventory by handling orders, calculating stock levels, processing returns, and negotiating pricing agreements. • Negotiate and maintain supplier contracts to secure cost-effective and high-quality services. • Track and update purchase orders within the system until they are finalized. • Record and allocate cash payments, including checks, money orders, and credit card transactions, to the appropriate accounts. • Communicate with stakeholders to resolve outstanding accounts and ensure timely payments. • Monitor account credits and provide detailed reports to the finance team for refund processing. • Support the Finance Department through administrative tasks and additional duties as required. • Participate in developing and implementing efficient procurement processes. Requirements • Associate’s degree in Business or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or procurement experience. • Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation. • Experience with Excel, including formulas and data management. • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Great Plains Accounting. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and team members.
