Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity offering the chance to contribute to a dynamic non-profit organization while gaining valuable experience in financial operations. The ideal candidate will support the Budget team with a variety of accounting tasks and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Responsibilities: • Process and verify accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Assist in preparing and analyzing expense reports to support financial decision-making. • Collaborate with the Budget team to contribute to forecasting and budgeting activities. • Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile discrepancies in a timely manner. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data effectively. • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures. • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues. • Prepare documentation for audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize and analyze data. • Experience with expense reporting processes and tools. • Basic understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions. • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and vendors. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required.
