Description We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Long Beach, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to work on diverse accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting operations and a detail-oriented approach to managing financial records. Responsibilities: • Review, code, and process accounts payable transactions, including handling month-end accruals. • Process payments such as A/P checks and initiate wire transfers as required. • Maintain sub-ledger schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accrued expenses. • Record and post daily cash transactions accurately. • Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of past-due invoices. • Manage and update the vendor master file, including vendor reviews and approvals. • Maintain customer master files, including processing credit applications. • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and performing month-end close activities. • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements on a monthly basis. • Prepare and review quarterly and annual sales tax, city taxes, and personal property tax returns. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry preparation. • Strong skills in bank reconciliations and financial reporting. • Experience with maintaining vendor and customer master files. • Ability to handle tax return preparation, including sales and property taxes. • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on maintaining detailed and accurate records. • Familiarity with processing credit applications and managing expense reports. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
