Description We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in Rochester, New York. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage key financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to help ensure the organization's financial health. Responsibilities: • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate collections. • Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and resolving discrepancies. • Prepare financial reports that provide clear insights into the organization's financial performance. • Perform bank reconciliations to validate the accuracy of financial records. • Manage double-entry bookkeeping to ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly. • Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts by providing detailed financial data. • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial activities. • Identify and address inconsistencies in financial data to maintain accurate records. • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and reporting. Requirements • Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows. • Strong experience with general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation. • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations. • Solid understanding of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping principles. • Familiarity with preparing financial reports and communicating findings effectively. • Knowledge of GAAP and its application in day-to-day accounting practices. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
