Description Robert Half Finance & Accounting Contract Talent is currently seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong Accounts Receivable focus for a long-standing non-profit client. This is a temporary to hire opportunity supporting a mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the nuances of non-profit accounting, strong AR skills, and a process improvement mindset. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a team that values accuracy, accountability, and service.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Batch incoming receivables and gather transactions for streamlined processing
Ensure AR entries are complete, accurate, and free of duplication
Conduct routine cash reviews and assist in maintaining internal controls around receivables
Analyze and improve existing transaction tracking systems
Maintain accurate records for reporting and audit purposes
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and improve efficiency
Provide reporting and support to leadership on AR trends and performance
Support procurement-related accounting tasks when needed, including PO tracking and expense reconciliation
Assist with preparation of documentation during audits
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong background in accounts receivable, preferably in a non-profit environment
Experience with batching, transaction review, and cash tracking
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with general ledger coding and nonprofit financial structure is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
