Description We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Montecito, California. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of hotel accounting practices and systems, as well as experience in managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization while building on your expertise in accounting. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger. • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain detailed records of financial activity and provide accurate reports to management as needed. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. • Utilize hotel-specific accounting systems, including SunSystem and Opera, to manage financial data. • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure accurate financial statements. • Collaborate with other departments to address financial inquiries and support operational needs. • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to leadership. • Monitor and resolve any discrepancies in financial documentation or transactions. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. • Strong understanding of hotel accounting practices and systems. • Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately. • Experience in conducting bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage financial data effectively. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to a dynamic environment.
