Description
Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Carson City, Nevada. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing accrual accounting processes and ensuring accurate financial tracking across multiple programs. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex accounting tasks, including bond accounting, while contributing to the financial success of the organization. This role is eligible for benefits ranging from Medical/Dental/Vision to 401k options and PTO.
Responsibilities:
• Perform accrual accounting for multiple programs, including tracking financial activities related to bonds throughout their lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and reporting standards, including managing federal grant and funding processes.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and balance sheet accounts to support organizational decision-making.
• Collaborate with team members to audit financial records and ensure adherence to accounting principles.
• Utilize Business Central software to manage and analyze accounting data effectively.
• Assist with fiscal year-end processes, including the preparation of comprehensive financial statements.
• Provide expertise in conduit debt accounting and ensure proper tracking and reporting.
• Support the organization in meeting financial deadlines and improving operational efficiency.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably with expertise in general ledger and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and accounting software like Business Central.
• Knowledge of federal funding and grant processes, including compliance and reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of bond accounting and conduit debt tracking.
• Experience preparing financial reports and conducting audits.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
