Description Robert Half is hiring on behalf of a valued client in the Greater Milwaukee Area seeking a skilled Accountant. This position involves supporting the client’s accounting team by managing comprehensive accounting functions for multiple independent nonprofit organizations. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, daily financial entries, monthly reconciliations, financial reporting, and collaborating closely with clients to deliver financial insights. Accounting Operations: ○ Daily transaction recording. ○ Accounts payable and receivable management. ○ Month-end accruals and journal entry preparation. ○ General ledger and bank account reconciliations. 2. Financial Reporting: ○ Monthly financial report preparation. ○ 1099 and annual budget preparation. ○ Year-end audit support. 3. Payroll and Benefits: ○ Payroll processing, including deductions and benefits management. 4. Fixed Assets Management: ○ Tracking purchases, depreciation, and disposals. 5. Grant Accounting (Agency-Specific Duties): ○ Handling grant revenues, expenses, and budgets. ○ Generating detailed grant financial reports. 6. Process Improvement: ○ Refining accounting systems for efficiency. ○ Supporting ad hoc projects and special assignments. Education/Experience Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution. • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in roles supporting nonprofit organizations. • Knowledge and experience preparing GAAP financial statements preferred. • Familiarity with ProLiant payroll software is advantageous.
