Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Detroit, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in accounts payable processes, journal entries, and general ledger management. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations while contributing to month-end financial activities.
Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and payment processing.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to support financial reporting.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Utilize ERP systems and accounting software to streamline workflows and ensure compliance.
• Monitor and audit financial transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and address financial queries.
• Contribute to balance sheet reconciliation and prepare supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards in all accounting operations.
• Support additional accounting functions as needed, including accounts receivable and financial reporting. Requirements • Proven experience in full-cycle accounts payable and general accounting functions.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems, Concur, and other accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger, and financial reconciliation.
• Familiarity with auditing, balance sheet accounts, and month-end processes.
• Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
