Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plant Accountant to join our finance team in Canada. This role plays a key part in managing plant-level financial activities, ensuring accurate accounting, and supporting operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment and a working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. GAAP.

Education:

Post-Secondary degree or diploma in AccountingCurrently working towards CPA accounting designation

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a cost accounting or plant accounting roleProficient in various accounting functions: cash management, inventory control, intercompany reconciliations, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (preference for Macola and/or Visual Manufacturing)Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP; exposure to U.S. GAAP is an assetPrior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Position Specific Title and Responsibilities:

Perform daily cash reconciliations and reportingPrepare weekly cash forecastsProcess daily customer invoicing and credit notesApply customer payments and manage AR collectionsCalculate bad debt provisions and generate customer statementsAnalyze plant costs and revenues to support financial decision-makingExecute AP cheque runs and process online bill paymentsManage intercompany payments and account reconciliationsPrepare required regulatory and financial reports

Target Hiring Range

Annual Salary: CAD 61,000.00 - CAD 85,000.00
