Human Resource Contact: Michelle Johnson /michelle.johnson@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level. + Shares front window coverage with other staff members to assist walk-in clients. + Answer Call Center phone calls from clients, employers, and case managers and provide the information requested or redirect callers to units as needed. + Researchers analyze data and interpret fiscal information for clients and child support program staff. + Accurately processes child support payments received at the State Disbursement Unit onto the state POSSE system within the 2-day federal requirement. + Post fiscal/statistical data, perform calculations, balance totals, and verify sorts and sequences of fiscal documents. + Produces financial or statistical reports, prepares and completes deposits for child support payments, and verifies amounts recorded. + Applies established accounting procedures and regulations in maintaining financial records or other fiscal documents. File retention of hard copy information and filing. + Sort mail and batch child support payments for daily processing. + Prepares mail for central mail. + Performs financial processing functions for transactions of a non-routine or unusual nature. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference may be given to applicants who are detail-oriented, multitasking capable, organized, and able to prioritize, have data entry experience, a good communicator both orally and in writing, and have customer service experience. Preference may be given to applicants who have experience with POSSE and/or WOLFS systems. KNOWLEDGE: + Ability to work as part of a team. + Skills in customer service. + Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, by electronic means, and in writing. + Skills in problem-solving and researching. + Knowledge of the Parental Obligation System for Support Enforcement (POSSE) system. + Knowledge of federal and state laws relating to the Child Support Program, economic assistance, and privacy laws. Federal codes, regulations, and related statutes. + Knowledge of computer program applications, data management, and record keeping, including Word and Excel. + Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance) Experience: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician OR Education & Experience Substitution: 3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + This position takes place in an average work environment NOTES: + FLSA: Non-Exempt + All positions within the Department of Family Services will require a background information check, INCLUDING the taking of fingerprints, which will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, for every successful applicant.
