Accountant: IV (Lead)
Description We are looking for an experienced Lead Accountant to join our team in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. This is a Long-term Contract position that requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial processes. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing accounting activities, supporting financial reporting, and driving process improvements. Responsibilities: • Oversee monthly accounting tasks, such as journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, to ensure timely financial close. • Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations and assist in the month-end close process. • Collaborate with various departments to support accurate preparation and reporting of financial results. • Develop schedules and documentation for financial disclosures in compliance with organizational requirements. • Review and validate journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards. • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and lead initiatives to implement efficiency improvements and system upgrades. • Manage month-end and quarter-end close activities, leveraging appropriate systems and tools. • Conduct ad hoc financial reporting and analyses, investigating discrepancies and providing detailed insights. • Support finance transformation efforts, including data validation, issue escalation, and system configurations. • Promote a strong workplace safety culture by adhering to safety policies and addressing potential hazards. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting. • Solid knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Certifications such as CPA or equivalent are preferred. • Familiarity with accounting software systems, including Blackline and SAP. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. • Previous experience in agriculture-related industries is a plus. • Strong background in enterprise transformation and process improvement initiatives.
