Here’s what you’d do:
The Fixed Asset Accountant maintains all aspects of Fixed Asset Accounting and Reporting in compliance with established practices and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), interacts with cross-functional business partners and field accounting teams on fixed asset accounting and reporting matters.
You’d be responsible for
+ Maintain all aspects of Fixed Asset Accounting and Reporting in compliance with established practices and GAAP
+ Perform monthly close tasks including preparing and booking journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and assisting in account analyses
+ Perform review of asset purchases to ensure compliance with internal policy and place assets in service
+ Record and review fixed assets dispositions in the system and the proceeds related to those disposals
+ Perform various fixed assets analyses (depreciation reasonableness, mid-month and quarter review, fluctuation analysis)
+ Provide accounting support for physical inventory count
+ Provide audit (internal/external) support (i.e., pull relevant fixed assets support and address various inquiries)
+ Assist in various clean-up efforts and ad hoc special projects
+ Prepare various financial reporting schedules impacting fixed assets
+ Interact with cross-functional business partners and field accounting teams on fixed asset accounting and reporting matters
You might be a good fit if you have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting
+ 0-3 years of relevant business experience
+ Strong understanding of US GAAP
+ Action oriented; thrives in a dynamic environment; takes initiative to identify and resolve issues; ability to prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
+ Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
+ Precise, deadline-driven team member with strong organizational and project management skills
+ High level of proficiency in Excel to perform spreadsheet and financial analysis
+ JD Edwards experience a plus
