WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Account Manager is responsible for increasing penetration in existing OEM accounts as well as identifying new markets and customers. This role will interface with customers at multiple levels of organizations (technical, commercial, and management) and deliver value propositions. This is a results-based position, with the expectation of achievement demonstrating initiative and ownership of his/her business. Specific responsibilities include:
Develop broad and deep relationships with customers' management, procurement and engineering staffs to advance the company's value proposition, increases share of wallet, and develop and maintain “Trusted Advisor” status. We aim to be the first call for product development. Understand and align with the market drivers and strategy of major customers, while also providing feedback to the management team that will help inform the company's strategies for growth. Coordinate schedule alignment between internal stakeholders and customers to achieve desired launch targets. Oversee the development of conceptual solutions by the engineering team, develop pricing, write proposals, manage quotes and lead the presentation of proposals to customer personnel. Maintain an understanding of competitive landscape and position and implement the appropriate pricing strategies. Regularly acquire and submit forecast information based on customer business indicators and planning. Utilize lean techniques for analyzing and improving process/workflow to continually improve service delivery. Through efficient prospecting and discovery, screen and identify opportunities that fit the company's strategy and objectives developing those prospects through pre-sales, negotiation, and support phases. Balance both own workload and supporting departments to prioritize customer opportunities for maximum growth.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business preferred. Equivalent work experience (direct sales experience of similar products) in lieu of degree may be considered. A minimum of three (3) years' experience in sales role(s) or customer-facing engineering role(s) of highly engineered products is required. Experience with reciprocating compression in sales or engineering preferred. Experience with rotating equipment required (turbomachinery, pumps, compressor). Strong technical acumen and ability to effectively communicate value proposition to key customers. Excellent communication and presentation skills – Ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels within the organization both internally and externally. Demonstrated competency with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Power Bi. Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization and collaborate cross-functionally. Ability to travel domestically (primarily) and internationally, up to 50% overnight travel initially, expected to level out at up to 30% overnight travel over time.
ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES
Bilingual in English/Spanish (fluent written and oral) a plus. Existing relationship with oil and gas, power generation, or related industrial manufacturers. Experience working with OEMs in the rotating equipment field. Experience in an environment of continuous improvement that includes the use of tools such as process analysis, Kaizen, and Lean techniques.
