Location/Division Specific Information
The Microbiology Business Division (MBD) offers a complete range of clinical lab supplies & automation platforms that support the clinical microbiology market segment. MBD has approximately $1.1B+ in revenue and 3400+ employees across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Location: US - Remote/Field
Territory: NC, SC, OH, WV, VA
The Account Manager is responsible for selling, servicing and promoting Microbiology Division products to accounts including food manufacturing, reference laboratory, dairy, beverage, environmental, and government testing labs by working collaboratively across all the Microbiology business, Channel Partners and other key internal stakeholders to meet or exceed revenue targets.

Apply and effectively use the Sales Methodology framework strategy in line with the organization's long-term sales and profit goals.Communicate the value of doing business with Thermo Fisher Scientific as a total solution partner that speaks directly to the customer's value propositionDevelop strong major account relationships at all levels of management to grow sales of MBD product lines in the assigned territoryDevelop a territory business plan and a key account strategy for each major account assigned, monitoring and reporting progress regularlyAlign strategy with other Groups and Divisions in Thermo Fisher Scientific through regular contact and interactionUnderstand competitive positions and tactics within accounts, maintaining strategies to oppose and mitigate competitive threatsNegotiate pricing and contract terms with customersCollaborate with essential team members to develop and implement timely contract launches and renewals.Champion Sales Force.com to manage customer data and leads, profile accounts, communicate opportunities, and manage the pipeline accurately and timelyAccurately, efficiently, and promptly submit reports and manage expensesDemonstrate and role model the 4-I values to guide decisions and interactionsKeys to Success:
Education:Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Food Safety, Business, or related field or equivalent experienceExperience:
Technical strength and demonstrated ability to navigate the Microbiology portfolio3+ years of sales experience in a relevant industry preferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Understand and demonstrate the necessity for sales planning and execution using standard sales tools (e.g. SalesForce.com) to drive commercial operational excellenceA broad familiarity with any of the following industries would be an advantage: Food Safety, Microbiology, Molecular – Academic or IndustryProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is requiredAbility to travel to customer sites, may require overnight travel within the assigned territoryMust have a valid drivers licenseBenefits
