Account Manager (Flow Metering)
This high-impact sales role focuses on expanding Emerson’s Instrumentation presence across Central England and Wales, targeting O&G, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Process Industries, and Water Utilities. The position drives strategic growth, leveraging Emerson’s acquisition of Flexim to introduce advanced flow measurement technologies. Key responsibilities include building strong industry relationships, engaging with engineering and planning teams, and influencing infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven sales track record, deep regional industry connections, and expertise in AMP Programmes and Framework tendering. This role is pivotal in positioning Emerson’s portfolio to shape market direction and secure long-term success. This is a remote opportunity, the ideal location of the successful candidate will be anywhere in the Midlands / Central England and Wales. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** **Sales Targets and Forecasting** + Own and deliver the budget and target for assigned customer accounts + Increase market share of Fleximproducts and solutions with targeted competitor displacement + Forecast and maintain opportunity funnel updating business planning tools (CRM) + Identify, develop and pursue new business opportunities across the water treatment, utility, infrastructure sectors and all other process industries + Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including contractors, consultants, and end-users to grow loyalty within the existing accounts **Who You Are:** The ideal candidate will be a proactive customer focused individual, who is results driven and a team player. You will have a consistent record in sales and new business development within the Central England and Wales (Severn Trent, South Staffs and Welsh Water areas) geographical regions demonstrating a strong industry network and a good understanding of AMP Programmes and Framework tendering processes. Your expertise will help position Emerson’s unique portfolio of products and solutions to influence market direction and secure long-term success. **For This Role, You Will Need:** **Sales Targets and Forecasting** + Strong knowledge and understanding of flow measurement principles – ideally with ultrasonic experience + Experience within the ICA, Planning and Operational sectors of the Water Industry advantageous + Background and experience in Developing Business, Product & Solution Sales and Engineering + Proven track record of consultative direct selling in a B2B environment, securing new business with existing customers + Experience in developing long term relationships with external customers **Team Collaboration** + Collaborate with existing instrument sales teams relationships to ensure complete account coverage + Maintain sales account and value creation plans to generate new opportunities + Actively collaborate internally and liaise with Product Managers and other BDMs on application knowledge sharing/training + Collaborate with the Marketing Team to ensure brand positioning and alignment of messaging and needs **Market and Sales Strategy Execution** + Develop and maintain a solid understanding of available market and business + Understand customers own strategy and overall industry trends, legislation drivers and business needs + Proactively deploy sales growth account plans/initiatives to ensure we are positioned as a preferred supplier across the designated water companies - Severn Trent, South Staffs and Dwr Cymru (Welsh Water) + Leverage existing strengths of Flexim (non-intrusive ultrasonic flow), brand within the water and process industries + Represent the company at industry events, tenders, and strategic meetings to enhance visibility and influence **Customer Engagement** + Operate confidently both in the client boardroom or in the field providing hands-on physical product measurement demos, field tests or surveys + Maximise customer facing time with travel expectation of 3-4 days per week + Identify new contacts and actively engage with existing customers by promoting unique product features and deploying best sales practices, supported by technical knowledge and solution selling + Build effective account relationships to become the trusted advisor within the water and process industries + Utilise key account management skills to maximise effectiveness and customer facing selling activities to ultimately win business **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Flow Metering sales experience or sales experience within the Water industry. + Be located anywhere in the Midlands / Central England or Wales. + Proactive, flexible and consultative selling experience. + Full clean driving license and the ability to travel to customer sites to fulfil duties of the role (approx. 75% of time) + Demonstrate the Emerson Values **Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:** + Clamp-on ultrasonic sales experience would be beneficial. **Our Culture & Commitment to You:** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
