Summary
As a Commercial Account Manager at Lear Corporation, you will be responsible for managing and growing key customer accounts within the automotive OEM sector. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, negotiating commercial terms, ensuring program profitability, and driving long-term strategic growth with OEM and Tier-1 customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the central interface and primary commercial contact between the company and the customer, representing customer-specific concerns and interests
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with purchasing, engineering, and program management teams internally and at customer organisations
Manage negotiation and completion of commercial issues with timely conclusion
Manage sales account with P&L responsibility, cost and pricing management and profitability ownership from project inception through to end of production (EOP)
Ensure profitability by managing costs, identifying margin improvement opportunities, and minimizing commercial risks
Deliver programme(s) with committed financial metrics
Support program launches and engineering changes from a commercial standpoint, including quotation submissions, commercial approvals, and price tracking in line with agreed customer timeline
Maintain internal reporting and support business case approvals
Monitor sales performance, forecast customer demand, and report revenue, margin, and pipeline activity to leadership
Track open issues, customer scorecards, and internal KPIs
Follow up on aging debt and drive cash-in collection in line with forecast dates
Manage ongoing projects – from pre-series to series production to spare parts in direct OEM contact
Successful execution of acquisition projects and management of the RFQ team
Independently create offers in collaboration with adjacent departments and handle contract review, offer tracking and negotiation
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer developments to identify new opportunities or risks
Systematic and strategic planning of customer visits
Comprehensive control function of business development by monitoring financial performance and competitive analyses, as well as determining customer-related data for sales and marketing planning
Key skills and Qualifications:
Highly developed commercial acumen, be a motivated self-starter and willingness to take the lead
Experience in tracking price changes, maintaining accurate records of changes including margin impacts
High level of communication, negotiation and analytical skills
Successfully completed a technical or business degree
Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in a customer-facing role – a commercial role in automotive is preferred
Enjoy working independently and proactively in a team
Are able to analyse complex and changing tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM systems
Command of English at business proficiency and thrive in exchanges with various stakeholders inside and outside the company
Enjoy interacting with customers and ability to establish a trusting basis for collaboration
