ABB Smart Buildings enables optimization of energy efficiency, safety, security and comfort for any building type, through new installations or retrofit solutions. The Division offers integrated digital technologies to control HVAC, lighting, shutters, and security, in addition to energy distribution solutions including DIN rail products, enclosures and emergency lighting through to industrial plugs and sockets and conventional wiring accessories, accommodating for single family homes, multiple dwellings, commercial buildings, infrastructure and industrial applications.

The Division’s highly innovative technologies and digital solutions serve rising global demand among real estate developers, owners, and investors for smart building technologies that optimize energy distribution and building automation. The scalable solutions aim to deliver significant sustainable and financial benefits, meeting social and environmental demands, while being able to address even the most complex of customers’ carbon reduction strategies.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

Inspire and advise clients on emergency lighting solutions, focusing on building safety, digitalization, and sustainability.

Identify and seize commercial and business development opportunities with a consultative, client-tailored approach.

Collaborate with the technical support team to design optimal solutions and coordinate with the ABB sales organization.

Build and expand relationships across customer organizations — from facility managers to safety experts and distribution partners.

Follow up on leads, convert quotes into results, and contribute to marketing and business growth initiatives.

Continuously develop technical and commercial expertise through ABB’s training and development programs.

What it takes to Run what Runs the World

Bold and curious mindset — proactive, hands-on, and eager to connect with key players in the Belgian market.

Proven commercial experience in electrical engineering, ideally in a field-based role (e.g., technical account manager, service engineer).

Strong interest in or motivation to specialize in emergency lighting.

Collaborative team player who values shared learning and brings fresh, innovative ideas to the table.

Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), preferably with a technical background.

Valid Category B driver’s license — regular travel is part of the role.
