**Overview**
**Introducing The Newsroom**
The successful candidate will be part of our new 'Newsroom' division - the media-facing core of the agency that operates like a modern editorial desk. The Newsroom team delivers daily news briefings, tracks media and social trends, and crafts fast, reactive stories that capture headlines. This team embodies the intersection of journalism, media strategy, and modern public relations, ensuring our clients remain plugged into the pulse of the news agenda.
**The Role**
We are seeking a media-savvy Account Executive with a strong understanding of the modern news ecosystem and emerging social trends. Ideal candidates will bring journalism or newsroom experience, or equivalent strong media-facing PR experience. A clear grasp of personal news consumption habits, an awareness of social media news dynamics, and a keen sense of how stories develop and land across platforms are essential.
**Responsibilities**
**_The Overview_**
You will be:
+ Play an active role in daily editorial briefings, reviewing headlines, emerging narratives, and public sentiment to identify opportunities for client engagement.
+ Proactively contribute ideas for newsjacking, trend spotting, and reactive media opportunities.
+ Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media influencers across sectors.
+ Draft press releases, pitches, media content and copy that meet editorial standards and newsroom expectations.
+ Liaise directly with influencers and media partners for both paid and organic campaigns.
+ Monitor and analyse media coverage, prepare detailed campaign reports, and contribute to post-campaign evaluations.
+ Support video and photography shoots, supplier coordination, and prop sourcing.
+ Participate in all-agency brainstorms, contributing creatively across client briefs.
**The Newsroom Team Structure:**
+ You will join a close-knit team led by a Senior Account Director, embedded within The Newsroom department but collaborating across client teams.
+ While you will have dedicated projects, your role will include cross-team opportunities to contribute to high-impact, fast-turnaround news moments.
+ You'll also benefit from mentorship opportunities and structured career development, including access to our bespoke Communications Academy.
**The Communications Academy**
As part of The Newsroom, you will participate in our next-generation training hub designed to upskill emerging talent in public relations. This includes bespoke modules in:
+ News craft and editorial standards
+ Media strategy and relationship building
+ Social-first content creation
+ Copywriting for digital and traditional media
+ AI-optimized content development
**Qualifications**
**Skills & Experience Required:**
+ Journalism, newsroom, or media relations experience (agency or in-house); consumer PR experience is highly desirable.
+ Strong editorial judgment with a sharp sense of what makes a story newsworthy.
+ Excellent writing skills, able to craft compelling pitches, press releases and social news content.
+ Confident multitasking across multiple projects and deadlines.
+ Proactive and collaborative, able to contribute creatively and think on your feet.
+ Comfortable engaging directly with media and influencers to secure impactful coverage.
+ Deep familiarity with how news travels across digital platforms, social media, and emerging channels.
