What this job involves:
The Account Director is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of comprehensive facilities management operations across multiple properties or a large complex site. This role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to ensure optimal facility performance, enhance operational efficiency, and create exceptional workplace environments that support organizational objectives and occupant wellbeing.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Develop and implement strategic facilities management plans aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices
Lead a team of facilities professionals, technicians, and service providers in delivering superior building operations and maintenance
Establish and oversee comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all building systems and infrastructure
Develop, manage, and optimize substantial operational budgets and long-term capital expenditure plans
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and sustainability
Ensure regulatory compliance across all properties, including health and safety standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and accessibility requirements
Direct emergency response protocols and business continuity planning for facility operations
Negotiate and manage complex vendor contracts and strategic partnerships to maximize value and service quality
Lead major facility projects including renovations, expansions, and system upgrades
Create and implement workplace strategies that enhance employee experience and support organizational culture
Develop and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate facility performance and drive data-based decision making
Serve as the senior advisor to executive leadership on facility-related matters
Champion sustainability initiatives and energy management programs to reduce environmental impact and operating costs
Desired or preferred experience and technical skills
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
8+ years of progressive experience in facilities management with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven track record managing complex facilities operations across multiple properties or large campuses
Extensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation
Strong background in budget development, financial management, and cost control
Experience leading major facility projects and capital improvement programs
Demonstrated success in team leadership and staff development
Proficiency with CMMS, CAFM, BMS systems, and other facilities technology platforms
Required Skills and Attributes

Exceptional leadership capabilities with proven ability to build high-performing teams
Advanced problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
