General NotesThe Department of Medical Education at Dell Medical School is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator to join its Student Affairs team. This position plays an integral role in delivering exceptional academic support and enhancing the student experience through effective coordination of programs, events, and services. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and committed to supporting medical education in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
PurposeThe Academic Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting academic programs and student services to ensure a seamless educational experience. This role focuses on student engagement, administrative efficiency, and faculty collaboration, while maintaining compliance with institutional standards. The coordinator contributes to program development, event planning, and day-to-day operations that promote student wellness, scholarly growth, and academic success.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation and evaluation of academic program initiatives, including measurable outcomes and continuous improvement efforts.
Coordinate student engagement and wellness activities, including student organizations, events, and research opportunities.
Provide comprehensive administrative support for Student Affairs operations, including budget management, compliance reporting, and records maintenance.
Serve as a primary resource for students, assisting with financial processes, travel documentation, and access to academic and research support.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure effective program delivery, including organizing committee meetings and cross-departmental coordination.
Plan and execute educational events, workshops, and official student programs, managing all logistics and post-event assessments.
Contribute to strategic planning, program evaluation, marketing, and special projects as assigned.
Maintain internal controls, uphold reporting structures, and perform additional duties as needed.
Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across stakeholders.
Utilize advanced Microsoft Office skills and digital platforms to manage data, prepare reports, and support program efficiency.
Exhibit high attention to detail, time management, and reliability in completing tasks and maintaining a professional workspace.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an educational or administrative setting.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including experience in program coordination or management.
Experience working in an academic healthcare environment.
Familiarity with University of Texas policies and procedures.
Experience managing complex scheduling needs.
Salary Range$49,975 + depending on qualifications
