Academic Lab Coordinator
Position Details Advertising/Posting Title Academic Lab Coordinator Posting Summary The Department of Animal & Veterinary Sciences seeks an energetic and ambitious individual who will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating and running the department’s teaching laboratories, including yearly oversight of IACUC teaching protocols for all courses requiring live animal use. The coordinator is responsible for all training and maintenance of teaching laboratory equipment as well as training and supervision of teaching assistants and work study students connected with the teaching laboratories. Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science/Biological Science or related field and three to four years of related experience. Knowledge of the care and use of agricultural animals in an educational environment. Knowledge of farm agricultural practices required. Knowledge of the regulations associated with Animal Care and Use, recombinant DNA use, and OSHA regulations. Familiarity with sterile and aseptic procedures. Desirable Qualifications Master’s Degree in Animal Science/Biological Science and previous teaching experience. Anticipated Pay Range $22-$27 Other Information Barn conditions which include inclement weather, odors, noise, animal and animal transmitted diseases. Requires walking, standing, driving, hearing and talking. Requires ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
