Description
Position Statement:
This 35-hour role aims to support academic activities, digital learning, and other scholarly pursuits outside of typical school events, thereby fostering the educational growth of our residents. The schedule is tailored to best accommodate residents' needs, with weekend hours expected.
Responsibilities:
+ Complete/provide standard educational plans for the delivery of academic-related lessons and digital learning activities. Provide individual and group instruction that is age-appropriate, motivating, engaging, and promotes academic development.
+ Work with and provide consultation to the Agency’s educational, employment, recreation, and residential departments, forging positive and supportive relationships with staff members to improve residents' overall treatment experience and outcomes.
+ As the leading operator of the Literacy Center, the Academic and Digital Learning Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, professional, efficient, and organized environment. They must also acknowledge the center's shared stakeholder roles, including training, recreation, school, and board use. Educational activities will be prioritized among these stakeholders.
+ Meet regularly with the supervisor to discuss, reflect on, and solve issues related to the responsibilities as mentioned.
+ Adhere to and comply with all agency policies and procedures.

Required Education and Experience :
+ Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional technology, or educational media
+ Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Canvas)
+ Knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility standards
+ Training in digital citizenship and cyber safety
Additional Eligibility Qualifications :
+ Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or Curriculum and Instruction with a Technology Focus
Essential Job Qualifications:
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
+ Able to provide crisis intervention, including physical restraints. Restraints may include resistive force, bending, squatting, kneeling, lying down, and holding youth to maintain safety.
+ Ability to sit, squat, crouch, and stand for elongated periods
+ Ability to lift arms overhead in upward reaching motion
+ Ability to walk up and down stairs several times daily.
+ TCI ONLY - Ability to provide crisis intervention, including physical restraints. Restraints may include resistive force, bending, squatting, kneeling, lying down, and holding youth to maintain safety .
+ Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
