Clinical Specialist/Physical Therapist Outpatient

A Brief Overview
The Clinical Specialist/Physical Therapist shall be responsible for assisting with the coordination, promotion, assessment, and interventions related to the scope of rehabilitation services. In addition, this individual also provides a full range of discipline specific therapy services including patient assessment, treatment, and treatment planning in an interdisciplinary team environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The specific percentage of work time spent on rehabilitation interventions versus other therapy treatment will be determined through a collaborative effort between the director and clinical specialist based on the service needs of the healthcare environment. The CS/PT will demonstrate accountability for the contribution to program development, quality improvement of clinical competencies, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. The Clinical Specialist/Physical Therapist will conduct staff and community in-services and educational conferences to increase staff and community knowledge of the specialty. The employee may have job functions where they will handle and deliver medications based on the requirements of their job in the assigned work facility.

Education QualificationsDoctoral Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy institution with successfully completed a specific volume of evidence-based pelvic health coursework and training. Must meet the required professional continuing education requirements to maintain the certification of lymphatic studies at all times during employment as a rehabilitation clinical specialist. Required
Experience Qualifications Minimum of two years of experience required in outpatient rehabilitation preferred.
Skills and AbilitiesProficiency in public speaking and have ability to communicate knowledge effectively required.
Licenses and CertificationsPhysical Therapist - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Licensed by the state of South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners Required Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 days or hire and recertification every two (2) years is Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
