Ab Initio Engineer
East Midlands (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

We’re looking for an Ab Initio Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this hybrid role, you’ll be instrumental in designing, building, and optimising key software features that enhance the lives of credit card consumers across a diverse user base.

 

The Role:

Collaborate within a high-performing Ab Initio engineering team to deliver impactful software solutions Contribute to the design and development of significant components or services Champion engineering best practices across your team and the wider organisation Drive innovation within your domain and deliver secure, high-quality, and scalable solutions Estimate delivery timelines and justify technical approaches with clarity and confidence Review peer code and provide constructive feedback in line with best practices Engage in Agile methodologies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

 

What you will bring:

Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio, GDE, and Unix scripting Skilled in full development lifecycle – from design through to deployment Confident working with product managers to clarify requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions Familiarity with Jenkins pipeline principles and automation Passionate about quality, with exposure to Pair Programming and clean code practices Understanding of Agile environments and delivery frameworks

 

Nice to Have skills:

Exposure to AWS and cloud-native file storage solutions Familiarity with Lambda programming Experience working in regulated environments and solving real-world challenges
