Description Are you an experienced Accounts Payable (A/P) detail oriented seeking an exciting opportunity in the commercial real estate industry? Our client, a dynamic and fast-paced commercial real estate firm, is looking for a detail-oriented A/P Accountant to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role offers the potential for long-term growth and provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a thriving industry. Key Responsibilities: Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, coding, routing for approval, and vendor payments. Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and expense reports in compliance with company policies and procedures. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address inquiries related to payments and invoice approvals. Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments while maintaining documentation for audit purposes. Maintain records of vendor contracts, W-9 forms, and tax-related information for annual reporting (e.g., 1099 compliance). Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accrual preparation and account reconciliations. Support process improvement initiatives and the implementation of AP automation tools when applicable. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered. Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant accounts payable experience, ideally within the real estate or related industries. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar). Intermediate Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.). Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with vendors and team members. Knowledge of GAAP and an understanding of real estate accounting practices is a plus.
