The aim of this position is to ensure the reliability of underwriting by effectively applying guidelines and controls, maintaining a consistent approach to risk selection and pricing, and utilizing capacity appropriately in response to market conditions. The role involves setting, implementing, and achieving underwriting profit goals in accordance with the business plan. The successful candidate will demonstrate adaptability by continuously updating wording and products and developing new ones within Chubb systems, aligning coverage with risk while maintaining Chubb strategies and guidelines.
The role requires building strong relationships with other Chubb teams, particularly in Operations, Finance, Claims, and IT, to ensure seamless collaboration. The candidate will meet all administrative requirements of the department, especially in underwriting documentation and peer reviews, while consistently maintaining Chubb's organizational standards.
A special focus will be on generating new business and cultivating relationships with key brokers to drive growth and profitability. The ability to manage multinational accounts is highly valued. The role is based in Madrid and involves handling brokers from different territories, necessitating regular travel.
The role requires working closely with the Team Manager, leveraging technology to enhance underwriting analysis and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Focus on underwriting new and renewal A&H Corporate products, including Business Travel Accident, Group Personal Accident, and ESB. Work within the framework of Chubb service standards, ensuring compliance with policy documentation, quoting timeframes, and compliance issues. Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and local business plan. Comply with all policies, controls, authorities, and reporting requirements. Play a key role in achieving the regional financial plan by applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Promote and represent Chubb to current brokers and new producers, increasing the visibility of Chubb's A&H corporate offerings in the MM and MA markets. Develop and implement a clear targeting and visit plan for brokers in the area of influence. Maximize cross-selling initiatives in collaboration with other lines of business, demonstrating sales acumen and opportunity management.Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or similar studies.At least 5 years of underwriting experience, preferably within the A&H Corporate line of business (Group Personal Accident, Business Travel, Healthcare).Advanced user of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.Proficiency in English and Spanish.Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the product line, the Spanish insurance market, and competitors.Solid commercial sales and business development experience, with strong negotiation skills and proven experience dealing with brokers.Self-motivated, positive, driven, dynamic, and sales-focused individual.Excellent communication and commercial skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.Team player, able to manage by influencing in a collaborative environment.High level of ethical working standards.What We Offer in Return
