Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a professional accounting position involving independent application of a variety of accounting skills. The incumbent for this position is responsible for utilizing various coding techniques to distribute and account for costs. Incumbent must have the ability to understand and apply applicable accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to an accounting program. Performs all duties in compliance with mandatory requirements of Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 69I-24 of the Florida Administrative Code.
Reviews, approves and reconciles P-Card charges:
Reviews P-Card usage as described in the Administrator’s Desk Top Procedures. Performs monthly P-Card Reconciliation Review of each of the Agency P-Card Groups’ reconciliations. Resolves disputed charges of P-Card purchases. Approves Finance and Accounting P-Card charges at level 2 in the State’s accounting system (FLAIR).
Processes vendor payment transactions through the State’s accounting system (FLAIR) and MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP):
Approves requisitions through MyFloridaMarketPlace. Prepares redistributions to spread charges to various funding sources, after warrant is generated.
Backs up the Accountant IV for tracking and reviewing Department of Financial Services (DFS) voucher error return forms to assist in their evaluation and reduce their impact upon the quarterly error rate compliance report. Provide guidance to the disbursements staff to prevent future voucher error returns and ensure compliance with DFS.
Researches and responds to inquiries from customers:
Responds to customers in a timely and professional manner. Requests duplicate warrants as needed. Cancels warrants and prepare corresponding entries into FLAIR.
Reviews and verifies scanned vouchers for accurate scanned documents and clarity.
Represents Finance and Accounting on teams and completes special projects as assigned.
Performs other duties as requested.
