787 Flightline Field Quality Manager

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring a 787 Flightline Field Quality Manager (Level K) located in North Charleston, SC to oversee our flightline operations and aircraft management of deliveries.

The 787 Field Quality Manager is responsible for quality oversight of aircraft fueling, build verification testing, functional tests of airplanes prior to flight and will also release airplanes for production and customer test flights. You will submit airplanes for an FAA airworthiness certificate after completion of test flights. Upon issuance of a certificate of airworthiness, you will be required to operate and supervise in a part 145 repair station through delivery flyaway. This is a variable shift position.

Position Responsibilities:

Leads & supports success of quality team activities to ensure processes/tests are completed & aircraft pass certification for airworthiness

Team activities include: oversee final component installation; systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair; preflight and post-flight checks; release for flight; and preparation for delivery

Interfaces & collaborates with flight crews, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance

Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

Provides education and coaching

Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and employees

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Manages, leads, develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Active A&P License

3+ years of experience working in manufacturing or flightline operations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Demonstrate commitment to safety and Incident & Injury Free principles

Experience influencing positive change

Shift:

This is a variable shift position, with current needs on 1st and 2nd shift. Willingness to to work either is required depending on business needs. Preference for shift assignment will be taken into account, but not guaranteed. Overtime may be required along with rotating weekend duty.

This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $115,200 - $140,800
